Functional Medicine of Melbourne, FL

Whole Family Root Cause Care

Fertility · Longevity

Office in Melbourne, Florida · Telemedicine for FL, PA, KS, OR, & OK.

Functional Medicine of Melbourne was founded by Elizabeth Amos, APRN, CNM — and has grown into a team built around the same principle: look for the root cause, treat the whole person, and give patients the time conventional visits never allow. Today that means a broader team, working together on a single plan of care for you and your family.

Elizabeth leads your diagnostic testing, prescribing, and overall plan. When you want closer, more frequent support putting that plan into action, Dr. Cally works alongside you on nutrition, movement, recovery, and the daily habits that make change stick. When infusion therapy is appropriate, Lorena provides it under Elizabeth's order. One plan, with the right person guiding each part of it.

I struggled with chronic daily migraines that were pushing me toward disability. I saw every specialist, did everything I was told, and my labs always came back "normal." It wasn't until I found functional medicine and discovered undiagnosed Lyme disease, significant gut dysfunction, and hormonal imbalances that had gone unaddressed for years that everything changed. I didn't just get better, I felt better than I ever had in my life. That experience is why I practice the way I do.

I'm a Family Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, and Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner. This combination lets me walk women through the full arc of their reproductive lives, from hormonal imbalance and fertility struggles through pregnancy and beyond. I chose IFM certification because I wanted a structured, evidence-based framework, not just a philosophy, and it's the foundation of how I approach every patient I see.

I believe the most effective care blends functional and conventional medicine. I'm not anti-medication, and I use every tool available when it's the right one. What I'm against is stopping at the symptom when the root cause is findable. I founded Functional Medicine of Melbourne because patients deserved the time and depth that real answers require, and I've built our team around that same principle: look for the root cause, treat the whole person.

I'm a wife, a mom, an athlete, and a doctor. For over a decade, I've worked as a chiropractor, helping patients uncover the root causes of their symptoms and take ownership of their health. Competing at high levels as an athlete has given me a deep respect for what the human body is capable of when it is supported, fueled, and understood.

In addition to more than ten years in clinical practice, I've completed over 150 hours of advanced functional medicine education through the Institute for Functional Medicine. My clinical training also includes pediatric and prenatal specialization through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, Webster Certification, 100 hours of Applied Kinesiology coursework, and advanced family-focused chiropractic education. My work has been published in The Journal of Pediatric, Maternal & Family Health – Chiropractic.

I don't chase isolated symptoms. I look at patterns. Stress, hormones, metabolism, recovery, and lifestyle all interact, and when one system is strained, the whole body feels it. I'm honored to join the team at Functional Medicine of Melbourne, working alongside Elizabeth to help patients turn a clinical plan into sustainable, everyday change.

I'm a Registered Nurse with a passion for compassionate, patient-centered care and helping people feel their best. I began my nursing career in 2019 in gastroenterology, caring for patients with Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and other GI and liver conditions, and later worked as a radiology nurse in a breast center, assisting with biopsies and procedures.

Today I specialize in vascular access, like placing PICC lines, midlines, and ultrasound-guided IVs. I bring this clinical experience directly into every infusion I administer, with a focus on precision, comfort, and safety.

Outside of nursing, my greatest joy is my family, including my husband and our two young children. I'm also currently pursuing my Family Nurse Practitioner degree, one class at a time. I'm grateful for the chance to care for patients at Functional Medicine of Melbourne while continuing to grow in this field I love.

Office Manager

I'm the person you'll likely talk to first, scheduling your visits, answering questions, managing our website, and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes so your time with our providers is focused entirely on you.

I live in Melbourne with my husband and homeschool our five children, and I bring the same organization and heart into running this practice that it takes to run a household of seven. I understand firsthand how much it takes to keep a family's health on track, and I care about bringing that same attention to our patients every day.
